Brother Seth Bogin came to Purdue University in 1999 hoping to rush his father and uncle’s fraternity, Kappa Sigma. Upon learning that Chi chapter had left campus a few years earlier, Brother Bogin recruited a few of his friends from Harrison Hall to form what became one of the two interest groups that came together to bring Chi Chapter back to Purdue. In his four years at Purdue, Brother Bogin’s happiest moment was the day the Founding Father Pledge Class was initiated.
Brother Bogin served in several positions for Chi chapter during his time at Purdue. These positions included Grand Master, Grand Procurator, Pledge Director, Head of Risk Management, Grand Conclave Delegate, and interim colony president. For his work with Chi Chapter Brother Bogin was awarded the Steven C. Beering Leadership/Scholarship award, a Kappa Sigma International Leadership/Scholarship award, and an Award for Exemplary Leadership. On campus, Brother Bogin served as a Senator, held multiple Directorships, and was a Leadership Delegate at the Associate Big Ten Students Conference for the Purdue Student Government.
After graduating from Purdue University in 2003, Brother Bogin moved to Miami, Florida and earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Miami. While at the University of Miami, Brother Bogin served as a Graduate Advisor for Kappa Sigma’s Epsilon Beta chapter. In Miami, Brother Bogin worked as a therapist in the inpatient psychiatric unit at Miami Children’s Hospital and as a therapist at a juvenile detention center, Bay Point Schools.
While working at Bay Point Schools, Brother Bogin went to law school and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Nova Southeastern University. In law school Brother Bogin served as an editor on the law review, was published in the Journal of Legal Medicine, held multiple assistantships, and was awarded a position in the United States Attorney General’s Summer Law Internship Program. Bogin was awarded a position in the United States Attorney General’s Honors Attorney Program.
Brother Bogin Currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife Simchah and works as an attorney for the Department of Justice.
Looking back on what Kappa Sigma has meant to him, Brother Bogin states “Kappa Sigma has provided me with some of the greatest experiences and friendships of my life, I am grateful to Chi chapter and the fraternity as a whole.”
